03.02 Awareness and Training (AT)

Phase 1 - A suggested method would be to include in your policy, a statement that incorporates a comprehensive cybersecurity awareness and training program to address NIST 800-171 Revision 3's "Awareness and Training" requirements. This program should mandate annual cybersecurity training for all personnel with access to CUI, covering proper handling procedures, individual responsibilities in protecting CUI, and current threat landscape awareness. We should also include role-based training tailored to specific job functions and system access levels, ensuring everyone understands their unique obligations. Furthermore, the policy should stipulate regular refresher training and ongoing awareness campaigns to reinforce best practices and keep our team informed of evolving threats and vulnerabilities. Finally, I believe the policy should outline clear consequences for failing to comply with training requirements and security protocols, demonstrating our commitment to protecting CUI.
