Scope

This policy outlines the organization's approach to managing and mitigating the risks associated with utilizing system components that are no longer supported by their original developers, vendors, or manufacturers. This policy applies to all systems and components within the organization's information systems that process, store, or transmit Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Determine If

  • A.03.16.02.a: system components are replaced when support for the components is no longer available from the developer, vendor, or manufacturer.
  • A.03.16.02.b: options for risk mitigation or alternative sources for continued support for unsupported components that cannot be replaced are provided.
